Alabama football is expected to hire Arizona Cardinals’ NFL scout, Stephen Wise and Georgia Tech’s Director of Recruiting Alex Mathis to its front office, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Wise was once a recruiting assistant at South Carolina before joining the Arizona Cardinals’ staff as an NFL Scout Assistant in 2021. He was promoted to the team’s representative with the National Football Scouting service in 2024.
Mathis is a former high school coach and recruiting coordinator. He earned his first college job in 2022 when UCF hired him to be its Assistant Director of Player Personnel. He was then promoted to Executive Director of Recruiting for the Knights.
Georgia Tech hired Mathis in 2025 to be its Executive Director of Recruiting.
Both Wise and Mathis will bring scouting and recruiting experience to the Crimson Tide’s staff. It is highly likely the pair will serve as members of the Tide’s recruiting staff.
