Alabama tight end commit locks in official visits to 2 other programs

Alabama football’s 2027 tight end commit Colt Lumpris will officially visit Alabama, Penn State and Texas A&M this summer. Lumpris is a product of The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and he is considered a four-star recruit.

The Crimson Tide has held a commitment from Lumpris since December. He remains committed to Alabama, with the Tide’s new tight ends coach Richard Owens reaching out to him after joining Alabama’s staff.

“His message was that I’m a huge priority still for them,” Lumpris said. “They think I’m a great player all around. I think he’s a good guy. I haven’t really talked to him a bunch, but I can feel the relationship building.”

The junior shared Penn State was one of the schools recruiting him hard alongside Alabama after Kalen DeBoer visited him in January.

At 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds, Lumpris is an obvious mismatch when he lines up out wide with his length. Some of the most impressive parts of his game at this point, is his ability to catch the football as a big target and work after the catch while getting up the field.

The Alabama commit pulled in 44 receptions for 812 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
