Domani Jackson confirms bright future for Alabama at cornerback: “He’s going to be the next great”

Domani Jackson feels the Alabama football cornerback room is in good hands after his departure.

Jackson started at cornerback in multiple games for the Crimson Tide during the 2025 football season. He primarily played in a rotation with Zabien Brown and Dijon Lee. Brown and Lee return to Alabama for the 2026 football season, and Jackson is excited to see what the duo can do in Tuscaloosa.

The California native highlighted both players when asked which returning Alabama defensive backs he is excited about at the NFL Combine.

“We have a big, big room,” Jackson said. “We’re deep. But I’m going to have to say Zabien, and then obviously Dijon Lee. He’s a freshman right now, but he’s going to be the next great.”

Brown possesses a lot of the traits of a shutdown corner, despite him only being listed at 6-foot and 192 pounds. In the days when a lot of long and rangy 6-foot-3 or taller cornerbacks continue to shine, Brown is showing shorter cornerbacks still have a place in major college football. Brown shines with his anticipation skills and ability to close on the football. He is also excellent at trailing wide receivers in coverage by staying in their hip pocket. Brown is a name more college football fans will likely know by the end of the 2026 football season.

Lee is the personification of the new-age cornerback at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. His incredible length and athleticism allow him to shine as a young cornerback. He earned Alabama’s coaches’ trust early last fall and played meaningful snaps throughout the season. He finished the year with two interceptions and seven pass deflections. However, he did have the typical freshman hiccups from time to time. Taking a step forward in his game this offseason could be critical for him.

Alabama fans will get their potential first look at Lee and Brown as the Tide’s primary cornerback starters next month when spring practice gets rolling in Tuscaloosa.
