NFL Draft analyst and insider for Essentiallysports.com Tony Pauline is reporting Ty Simpson is trending to be an early first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Simpson turned heads during his throwing session at the NFL Scouting Combine. Pauline reported Simpson could go as early as within the top 12 selections after his impressive combine performance.

“Even before his terrific combine workout Sunday, I was told that quarterback Ty Simpson will be drafted earlier than most presently predict,” Paulin wrote. “Some believe he could end up in the top-12 selections.”

The Alabama quarterback told media members he met with the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the combine. The Jets, Browns, and the Cardinals have picks within the top 12 selections of April’s draft. All three franchises could be in the market for a quarterback.

Pauline reports the Browns are in the midst of ‘extensive’ work on Simpson, despite having multiple young quarterbacks on its roster.
