Dedrick Kimbrough made it back to Tuscaloosa Sunday and was able to get a front-row seat to see how the Crimson Tide’s wide receiver room will operate with Derrick Nix as its wide receiver coach.
Kimbrough is a 2028 wide receiver out of Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama. His offer list includes offers from Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M and others.
The Crimson Tide was able to take Kimbrough behind the scenes of what they are building in their wide receiver room on Sunday.
“Coach Nix really highlighted that there’s no place that can help me reach my goals of being a first-round pick like Alabama,” Kimbrough told Touchdown Alabama. “I got the chance to sit in meetings with coach Nix and the receivers. I love how he teaches and coaches the players. He makes sure that they know the field inside and out. Ryan Williams was able to come in and go over some great points with the players, but it’s just really a reflection of how much is expected from coach Nix and DeBoer.”
Alabama remains among the schools standing out to Kimbrough. However, two other programs are also standing out to the Alabama product.
“Overall, Alabama is in a close battle with Florida, and Notre Dame is staying on me,” Kimbrough said. “Alabama has all of the necessary tools to make me the best player I can be.”
The 6-foot-2, 197-pounder is a fluid route runner who has proven he can be explosive out of his release off the line of scrimmage. He flashes promise, and he is expected to be one of the most sought-after wide receivers in the 2028 recruiting class.
