Alabama football is hiring Trent Simpson as an assistant defensive line coach, according to multiple reports.
Simpson was a defensive analyst for the Oklahoma Sooners for three seasons before joining the Tide. Jamie Mosley served as the Tide’s assistant defensive line coach last season before getting hired by Stanford.
The new Alabama coaching addition will directly work with the Crimson Tide’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach. He will be tasked with helping coach a unit mixed with returning talent, new additions and young potential.
Simpson is a native of Oxford, Alabama. He played football and baseball as a collegiate athlete.
