Quarterback is the most entertaining position, but there is one Alabama football standout that could not have picked a better time to enter the NFL Draft.

5 NFL teams in the best position to draft Alabama’s Ty Simpson

All 32 teams have an offensive line help as a need, which means Kadyn Proctor should not fall out of the opening round on Thursday night. The 2025 first-team All-SEC selection, Consensus All-American selection, and SEC’s Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner is arguably the best offensive tackle in the class. The 6-foot-7, 352-pounder had two stints with the Crimson Tide.

He played his freshman season in 2023 under Nick Saban, earning SEC All-Freshman Team and Freshman All-American honors. Proctor helped the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and the College Football Playoff. He would transfer back home to Iowa in January of 2024, but decided to return to the Tide on April 16, 2024 via the transfer portal.

He made the CFP in two of three seasons – excelling in run blocking and pass protection.

Who will draft Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard?

Proctor dropped weight ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine and showcased his agility and athleticism for pro teams.

Every team needs a lineman; however, there are some with young quarterbacks that have it listed as a primary need.

The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, and New England Patriots all have needs at tackle.

NFL teams that need an OT in first round

Tennessee Titans: No. 4 overall selection

-New York Giants: Nos. 5 and 10 overall

-Cleveland Browns: Nos. 6 and 24 overall

-Los Angeles Rams: No. 13 overall pick

-Detroit Lions: No. 17 overall selection

-Philadelphia Eagles: No. 23 overall pick

-Chicago Bears: No. 25 overall selection

-San Francisco 49ers: No. 27 overall pick

-Houston Texans: No. 28 overall selection

-New England Patriots: No. 31 overall pick

Any of these teams would benefit from having Proctor’s skill set in pass protection as well as creating balance in the rushing attack. He had a good career at Alabama – especially with him getting involved in the offense last season.

It will be intriguing to see who takes Proctor.
