Alabama football’s wide receiver, Germie Bernard is projected to be a day-two pick in the 2026 NFL Draft by many draft analysts.
Bernard played two seasons with the Crimson Tide after transferring from Washington. He pulled in 64 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns during his last season in Tuscaloosa.
Teams in the NFL traditionally get to invite up to 30 prospects to their facility ahead of the draft to meet and learn more about them, and Bernard has met with several teams for Top-30 visits ahead of this month’s draft. NFL insider, Ian Rapport reported Bernard has met with the Steelers, Browns, Falcons, Raiders and others.
The Raiders are expected to go after a wide receiver to pair with the projected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, with their second-round pick. There is expected to be several solid wide receiver options available at the point in the draft. There are some who believe the Raiders will likely jump on a chance to add Mendoza’s Indiana teammate, Omar Cooper Jr., with the No. 36 overall pick, but the opportunity for Bernard to return to his hometown of Las Vegas remains on the table ahead of the draft if Cooper is not available.
The Falcons have the No. 48 overall pick, and Atlanta could take Bernard there if they choose to take a wide receiver after signing multiple during the early part of free agency. The Steelers have the No. 53 overall pick in the second round, and Bernard getting snatched here remains a high possibility because Pittsburgh needs to add some depth to its wide receiver position. DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. are the only wide receivers with meaningful experience on the Steelers’ roster at the moment.
The Browns need more offensive weapons outside for Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel or Deshaun Watson. Cleveland currently has three picks in the first two rounds of the draft. They are likely taking a wide receiver with their first-round pick, with talks of a possible trade happening with their second first-round pick. If they choose to take two wide receivers early in the draft, Bernard could see himself heading to Cleveland.
The Las Vegas native has also been linked to the Kanas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins in various mock drafts.
The 2026 NFL Draft gets rolling on Thursday, April 23.
