Crowell is a former five-star recruit and is a product of Jackson High School in Jackson, Alabama.
The Alabama native enrolled at the University of Alabama as an early enrollee after signing with the Crimson Tide in December. However, he did not participate in the Crimson Tide’s spring game, A-Day, and he was sidelined for most of the spring with what Ryan Grubb described as a soft-tissue injury.
Kalen DeBoer expressed that he remains excited about Crowell’s first year in Tuscaloosa despite his being limited during spring practice.
“With EJ, just not a lot of reps the first couple of practices and really nothing since,” DeBoer said during his press conference after A-Day. “So, it is you’re going off of what you saw there, and you have optimism. There’s a lot to learn for him, even just the contact, the physicality that comes along with the next level up. But from athleticism, speed, got the strength, you’re optimistic. There’s a lot of promise.”
A lot of Alabama fans are excited to see Crowell making plays in crimson and white in the future.
