Colton Johnson is expected to officially visit the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend.
Johnson attends Upperman High School in Tennessee, and he holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Ohio State, Tennessee and others. The 2027 prospect is looking forward to getting to Tuscaloosa for his official visit.
“I want to get to know the people in the program more and see the culture around it.”
Alabama offered Johnson in March, and contact between the Tide and the tight end has been consistent since. Johnson describes his contact with the Tide as great.
The Tennessee product previously expressed how highly he thought of the Alabama football program.
“I think Alabama is the most proven program in all of college football, and they are top-tier in every aspect of football,” Johnson told Touchdown Alabama.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder shines as a complete tight end for Upperman. He produces as a blocker at the line of scrimmage, displaying physicality and tenacity. He also makes plays as a large target for his quarterback.
“I think I’m a dominant blocker and a big target in the pass game,” Johnson said.
Johnson finished the 2025 season with 36 receptions, 615 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
