Updating Alabama football’s 2027 wide receiver recruiting board

Alabama football is looking to put together an impressive recruiting class, with some impressive talent at wide receiver.

The Crimson Tide does not hold a commitment from a 2027 wide receiver, but this is expected to change in the future. Here is an updated look at the Tide’s top 2027 wide receiver targets at the moment:

Monshun Sales – 5-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: May 29-31

Schools Considering: Alabama, Indiana, Miami, Texas, Ohio State

Evaluation:  The 6-foot-5 wide receiver prospect presents a massive target for his quarterback. He flashes the potential to be a big and physical wideout at more than 200 pounds. His physicality is also put on display when he lines up on the defensive side of the football.

Xavier Sabb – 5-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 9

Schools Considering:  Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, LSU and UCLA.

Evaluation: At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Sabb is a smooth and fluid route runner. He can also be dangerous when the ball is in his hands, thanks to his ability to make defenders miss. The talented wideout also flashes impressive ball skills.

Osani Gayles – 4-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: May 29-31

Schools Considering: Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee, Washington

Evaluation:  At 5-foot-11 and 181 pounds, Gayles is an explosive and elusive wide receiver, who is built like a future slot option. He quickly picks up ground when he has the football in his hands with elite acceleration. The Alabama target pairs this skill set with the ability to be a deceptive route runner.

Deshawn Hall – 4-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 12-14

Schools Considering:  Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee

Evaluation:  At 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds, the 2027 recruit’s basketball background literally leaps off his junior film. He is a very hard cover in jump-ball situations. He is also able to create separation in impressive fashion for a guy his size.

Khalil Taylor – 4-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 19-21

Schools Considering:  Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Nebraska, Syracuse

Evaluation: Taylor is another explosive wide receiver with a compact frame who the Tide is targeting. The 6-foot, 180-pounder shines with his ability to create separation at the top of routes. Taylor is also a dangerous returner on special teams.

Namajay Thompson – 3-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 5-7

Schools Considering: Alabama, Georgia

Evaluation:  At 6-foot and 186 pounds, Thompson reports the ability to run a 4.4 forty, and his speed is evident in some of his top plays from the 2025 football season. He flashes the ability to take the top off of defense by getting behind the secondary, along with his ability to turn a short pass into a big gain. The new Alabama targets sees his route-running, strong hands, ability to create separation, blocking, speed, and body control as strengths.

Cedric Simmons – 3-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 12-14

Schools Considering: Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Purdue, West Virginia

Evaluation: At 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, Simmons is an explosive wide receiver who can be dangerous with the football in his hands. He is also an athletic wideout who has no problem rising to go and get the football in jump-ball situations. He had more than 2,000 receiving yards last season.

Kyren Caldwell – 3-Star WR

Alabama Official Visit Date: June 19-21

Schools Considering: Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi State, South Carolina

Evaluation:  At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Caldwell is an impressive route runner who creates separation throughout his film. He also possesses a long frame with the ability to create separation at different points in the progression of his routes.
