Ayden Coleman announced a commitment to Mississippi State ahead of a previously scheduled official visit with the Crimson Tide.
Coleman is a 2027 linebacker prospect, and he attends Louisville High School in Mississippi. His decision leaves the Crimson Tide without an inside linebacker commit, with Kenneth Simon flipping his commitment from Tennessee to Alabama on Saturday. It is unclear if Coleman will still officially visit Alabama.
Mississippi State and Alabama both offered the linebacker earlier this month. The Crimson Tide offered Coleman on June 4, and the Bulldogs offered him the next day. He scheduled an official visit with the Tide for next weekend after earning the offer. The Bulldogs got him on campus over the weekend.
Alabama’s coaching staff is expected to continue its push to add an inside linebacker or two to this class. It will not be a surprise if some new offers are extended at the position soon.
Cole Crawford, who Alabama is recruiting to play linebacker, is expected to officially visit the Tide next weekend.
