Benjamin Russell 4-Star QB sets commitment date, will choose between 3 SEC programs

Kingston Preyear told Touchdown Alabama he is down to Alabama, Florida and Vanderbilt. He is now expected to announce a decision on July 10.

Preyear is a 2028 four-star quarterback, and he attends Benjamin Russell High School in Alabama. The rising junior garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.

Touchdown Alabama recently got Preyear’s thoughts on each school.

Alabama

“Alabama has been one of my favorite schools since I was younger,” Preyear said. “I grew up watching them and have always respected the tradition of the program. I’ve built a great relationship with the coaching staff throughout the recruiting process. Alabama has a proven history of winning and consistently developing players for the next level. Coach (Ryan) Grubb has a great offensive mind and a strong track record of developing quarterbacks. Coach (Bryan) Ellis brings a lot of knowledge to the position, and I appreciate the way he teaches the game and builds relationships with his players. Every visit has been a great opportunity to learn more about the program and continue building those relationships.”

Florida

“I’ve built a great relationship with all of the programs,” Preyear said. “Florida was the first school to offer me after the season, and made it feel like home every time I’ve been down there. With some of the staff being from Alabama, we’ve got a tight bond.”

Vanderbilt

“Vanderbilt is a great school,” Preyear told Touchdown Alabama. “Academics are huge, and football is growing, so you’re getting the best of both worlds there. I have a great relationship with the entire staff. Coach TK (Trenton Kirklin) is a great coach, with what he knows mechanically, to help a quarterback. Coach Beck is one of the best play-callers in CFB. Creating plays to get his weapons the ball and to win games.”

Preyear is expected to be a dual-threat quarterback at the next level. He has been one of the top passers in Alabama high school football in recent years.
