Alabama football will face some of the best coaches in college football this fall, with the SEC being loaded with premier coaches.

With the 2026 college football season on the horizon, Touchdown Alabama takes a look at the top head coaches Alabama will take on this fall.

1. Kirby Smart

Smart remains one of the best coaches in college football. As the only current head coach in the SEC with a National Championship under his belt, it is hard to argue against him being recognized as the best coach in the conference at the moment. The Bulldogs have consistently been in the mix to win a National Championship in recent years. However, Alabama has continued to have a lot of success against Smart. The former Alabama defensive coordinator has struggled to crack the code to defeating Alabama consistently. Fortunately for Smart, he was able to pick up his first win against a Kalen DeBoer Alabama team in the SEC Championship last season. The Bulldogs travel to take on Alabama in October at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, and Smart will be looking to pick up his first win against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
