A pair of former Alabama football players found themselves on CBS NFL Sports Writer Tyler Sullivan’s list of the top 25 NFL players under 25 on Tuesday.
Jahmyr Gibbs and Will Anderson both made the list. Anderson came in at No. 6 at 25 years old, and Gibbs came in at No. 9 at 24 years old. The Crimson Tide had Anderson on its roster from 2020 to 2022 before he got drafted. Gibbs played one season at Alabama before the Lions drafted him.
Houston Texans recently made Anderson the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Anderson signed a three-year, $150 million extension, and the extension pays him an average of $50 million per year. $134 million is guaranteed to Anderson.
This contract extension came after Anderson had racked up 30 career regular-season sacks and eight post-season sacks.
Gibbs is one of the league’s most exciting running backs. He is coming off a season where he had 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns to go along with 616 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
The future continues to look bright for both of the young superstars.
