How many seniors are on Alabama football’s roster ahead of 2026 season after elimination of redshirts?

Alabama football’s roster has been updated, and there are no more redshirts listed after the NCAA voted to approve the “5-to-play-5” rule in college sports, giving athletes five years to play five seasons of collegiate sports.

The Crimson Tide now has 35 players listed as seniors, fifth- or sixth-year players on its roster. 10 of those players will run out of eligibility at the end of the 2026 football season. Notable Tide players who will have no eligibility remaining after this fall are Keon Sabb, Jah-Marien Latham, Devan Thompkins, Danny Lewis and Fatutoa Henry.

There will now be multiple Alabama players regarded as seniors who were going to be considered redshirt juniors. However, they still will have another year of eligibility remaining after the upcoming season. Notable Alabama seniors who will have another year of eligibility remaining are Austin Mack, Bray Hubbard, Edric Hill, Noah Rogers, Racin Delgatty, Yhonzae Pierre, Desmond Umeozulu, Caleb Woodson, Khalifa Keith, Terrence Green and Jayvin James.

Although the Crimson Tide’s roster will not look as young as it was projected to look before this season, it will still be quite young considering 25 players listed as seniors have a chance to return after the season.
