This ‘dog’ Alabama linebacker has his teammates excited for the fall: “He’s hungry”

Alabama football’s junior linebacker and Birmingham, Alabama, native QB Reese has his teammates ecstatic to play with him this fall.

“I really like QB Reese,” Zabien Brown told Ryan Fowler of Tide 100.9 at SEC Media Days. “He’s a dog, man. He’s hungry. You see every day the way he walks; he can’t wait to get in the building.”

The praise for Reese this offseason has been consistent. Legendary Alabama football linebacker Reuben Foster highlighted Reese after spending time with the Tide’s linebackers during the spring.

“QB was a guy that I found a likening to,” Foster said. “I did not get a chance to talk with him too much, but I saw his grind. He is a wonderful guy, and he’s got that dog in him. He reminds me of myself: short, small, underrated because of his looks, but he is going to bring it. I really like that.”

Reese has taken it upon himself to put in the work needed to be a complete linebacker this fall so he can take advantage of the opening the Tide has at the inside linebacker position. He recently spent some time working on getting after the quarterback.

“He just wants to be able to rush if they put him outside or inside, just being able to go,” The founder of WinningEdge OL/DL Training Terrence Swift said. “He really just wanted to work on his pass rushing, more of an understanding of what to do because he can just run up field with speed and still win battles. But he wants to get a game plan on what to do, why to do it, and how to do it to be more effective because pass rushing is all about being effective because you only got a certain amount of time to get to the quarterback or the ball is gone.”

Reese is a name Alabama fans may need to become really familiar with. He is among the favorites to start at inside linebacker for Alabama this fall.
