Jahmyr Gibbs is not participating in training camp for the Detroit Lions as he awaits a new deal, per multiple reports.
Gibbs is set to enter his fourth season with the Lions. He is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
The former Alabama running back was drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by Detroit after one year at Alabama. He rushed for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
The Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked about Gibbs’ status on Wednesday.
“This will kind of continue,” Campbell said. “It’ll come as it comes. I think that’s the best way to say it. This is both sides working through something and we’ll take it as it comes, but that’s where it is.”
