Alabama football’s offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb, was excited to talk about the Crimson Tide’s running back after the fifth practice of fall camp.

Grubb said he was happy to hear a reporter ask him about the running backs.

“I thought we had some really, really good runs today,” Grubb said. “A couple of pops on some cutback lanes where guys got their shoulders square. Daniel (Hill) had a nice one. TB (Trae’Shawn Brown) had another good one. AK Dear had a touchdown on a wheel route. It was a competitive day for the running backs. I felt like I was coming from all different directions. Everybody was showing up and doing a really good job. I think the competition has held strong. I think that is one of the biggest parts of it right now: the guys feeling that competition.”

Alabama returns three running backs to its roster from last season in Hill, Kevin Riley and Dear. EJ Crowell and Brown signed with the Tide as high school prospects. Khalifa Keith joined the Tide from the transfer portal.

The Tide remains hopeful they can run the ball better this season.
