Paul Finebaum has done a complete 180 on Alabama since the Kalen DeBoer era began.

A program that was usually subject to consistently less criticism under Nick Saban has now been fair game for Finebaum to unleash one following back-to-back seasons of losing three or more games.

This time Finebaum took his aim toward the fan base and criticized their reaction to the Crimson Tide being ranked No. 13 in the preseason AP Top 25 released on Monday.

“Yesterday, it was 101 degrees in Tuscaloosa, but the fans on The Paul Finebaum Show were even hotter and upset with the AP Poll,” Finebaum said on Get Up on Tuesday. “They could not believe their beloved Alabama, was not in the Top 10. I was not surprised. I frankly agree, They should have been lower.”

Finebaum went a step further stating that the fan base cannot get over the fact that Saban is no longer leading the charge which is warping their perception of the team.

“But the problem at Alabama is one we’ve talked about a long time,” Finebaum said. “They just can’t get over the fact that Nick Saban is no longer the coach. The program doesn’t get the best players, and they’re looking at about a 9-3 season, which is fine if you’re Oklahoma of somebody else, but it doesn’t work at Alabama.”

The Crimson Tide will have its chance to prove its doubters wrong as it begins it’s season on Sept. 5 against East Carolina.
