Which Alabama players were held out of second scrimmage of fall camp?

Alabama WR Lotzier Brooks (#17) is one of multiple players the Tide will lean on to replace Germie Bernard in the fall.

Alabama football was without two offensive players again in its second scrimmage of fall camp before the 2026 college football season. A defensive player also went down with an injury.

Kalen DeBoer updated the status of EJ Crowell, Lotzeir Brooks and Nick Sherman. Crowell is a freshman and former five-star running back. Brooks is a returning wide receiver for the Crimson Tide, and Sherman transferred from junior college to Alabama after the 2025 football season.

“I’d expect him (Crowell), we’re really hopeful that sometime next week, he’s coming back to step on the football field and practice,” DeBoer said. “I would put Lotzeir in the same category, did not scrimmage today. Nick Sherman did suffer an injury today, and he’ll be evaluated. It’s a lower extremity injury. That was it as far as any injuries that happened in the practice today.”

Alabama opens the season against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
