Alabama running back ‘iffy’ for East Carolina game, two injured players to be back by end of September, per report

ON3’s Chris Low provided an update on a trio of Alabama players dealing with injuries on Wednesday.

Low reported EJ Crowell is ‘iffy’ for the Crimson Tide’s season opener against East Carolina. He also reported both Noah Rogers and AK Dear could be back on the field by the end of September.

Crowell is a freshman running back for the Tide and a former five-star. Dear is also a running back for the Tide, and he is currently sidelined with a lower-body injured. Rogers, who is a wide receiver for Alabama, is back practicing after going down with a serious injury in Alabama’s spring game A-Day.

Kalen DeBoer recently provided an update on Rogers.

“Noah’s had the chance to get on the field the last few days.” DeBoer said. “Going back to the spring game, A-Day, when the injury happened, the timeline that he was on and where we expected, is much ahead of that. And that’s an attribute to his mindset, his positivity. From the time he was diagnosed, he was still up here. He wasn’t going to let it deter him from continuing to move forward and make the most out of every day he could. Our team just celebrated him being back out there, he’s not doing team drills or anything like that, but he’s making a progression and he’s much ahead of schedule from what we originally thought.”

Alabama is looking to shake these injuries ahead of its season opener against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
