The Alabama Crimson Tide have officially named sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell as the starter entering the 2026 campaign.

Russell is an extremely talented and versatile quarterback who should quickly emerge as a star during his second season in Tuscaloosa. The promising signal caller will need to battle through some major adversity on a handful of occasions this season, and Russell will find himself in the midst of numerous hostile environments on the road throughout SEC play.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer recently revealed how he has prepared the quarterback in regard to playing on the road, as DeBoer claims Russell’s freshman season with the Crimson Tide served as an excellent first glimpse as to what he may expect in year two.
