Kalen DeBoer finds himself entering a critical third season as the Crimson Tide’s head coach in 2026.

DeBoer led the Tide to an 11-4 record last season while also securing an impressive win on the road during the College Football Playoff against Oklahoma. The Tide will undoubtedly need to play at a much higher level this season despite last years’ success, and DeBoer now finds himself with one of the most talented rosters in the nation entering year three.

Many believe DeBoer’s recent success could stem from his game day apparel, as the Crimson Tide head coach has been seen wearing his signature black Alabama hoodie during numerous big games over the past two seasons. DeBoer was recently asked if he plans on wearing the hoodie against ECU on Saturday, as the third year head coach claims he is willing to do whatever it takes to win.

“I saw that forecast.” DeBoer said. “I mean, you got to do what you got to do. So, whatever it takes.”

DeBoer has compiled an overall record of 20-8 across his first two seasons in Tuscaloosa. The former Washington head coach will enter 2026 with massive expectations following his success with the Tide in 2025, and DeBoer appears to be seriously considering his signature black Alabama hoodie despite the major heat wave expected during Saturday’s contest.
