The Alabama Crimson Tide will play under the lights at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time this season on Saturday night.
Alabama will host South Carolina for their second SEC matchup of the year. The Tide’s offense will look to pick up right where they left off against a talented Gamecocks’ defense, as sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell will face an excellent test against star defensive end Dylan Stewart and the rest of South Carolina’s front seven.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer recently took a moment to reveal what he expects from the Gamecocks this weekend, as DeBoer claims familiarity between the two teams will play a significant role throughout the matchup.
“Some skill players that are back, obviously their quarterback LaNorris Sellers,” DeBoer said. “He’s a dynamic, physical quarterback that I think is really running the ball more aggressively with some explosiveness that’s even greater than what it was a year ago. He was at the top of the list as far as guys who you had to make sure you had your eyes on. And they hit their deep shots to Nyck Harbor, and they did that to us each of the last two years, they got one each time. They got a run game, I think it’s going to be the best personnel we have seen so far across the board.”
South Carolina will enter Saturday’s contest following a 41-34 loss vs. Mississippi State in Week 3. Alabama has defeated the Gamecocks on two separate occasions in 2024 and 2025, and the Tide will undoubtedly need to contain Sellers to the best of their ability in order to secure their third win in three years over South Carolina.
