How Alabama is preparing for cowbells at Mississippi State

Alabama football is set to take on Mississippi State in David-Wade Stadium Saturday for the first time during the Kalen DeBoer era.

It is sure to be a loud environment in Davis-Wade Stadium this weekend, but the Bulldog fans bring a different twist to tradition. The Bulldog faithful will be shaking cowbells, per usual, and the Alabama staff and players who have not experience this before will try to get prepared for the noise in practice this week.

“We know, this week, we’ve got to work on that crowd noise,” DeBoer said. “There will probably be a lot of cowbells that we’re hearing in practice in one form or fashion.”

Alabama is also preparing for an early kickoff. The Tide is set to leave Tuscaloosa and head to Starkville the morning before the game.

“Another thing is that it’s just an early game,” said DeBoer. “It’s an 11 o’clock kickoff. We’re a morning practice team and we’ve had some success in those morning games. We’ve got to go on the road and travel that morning. It’s going to be a little different set-up that way too.”

The game will be broadcast on ABC.
