Mississippi State wide receiver to get his best shot at ‘get back’ against Alabama

Anthony Evans has had the Alabama Crimson Tide circled before the season started.

Evans, who was defeated by the Tide in 2023 and 2024 as a Georgia Bulldog, made it known he wanted to beat Alabama at SEC Media Days.

“Alabama, I’ve never beat them,” Evans said when asked about a game he is looking forward to. “So, that’s something I look forward to. I need to get my get back.”

Evans leads Mississippi State in receiving yards with 408 yards, and he is averaging 14.6 yards per catch with Kamario Taylor throwing the football to him.

Evans will get as good a shot at beating Alabama as he could hope for on this Saturday. The Bulldogs will host the Tide in Davis-Wade Stadium in a top-25 matchup. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., which could benefit Mississippi State as the home team.

The last time Alabama played Mississippi State in Starkville, the Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs 40-17.

Saturday’s game will be broadcast on ABC.
