Alabama tight end Josh Ford suffered a broken arm during the Tide’s 56-23 win over Mississippi State last weekend.

Ford is currently listed as questionable prior to Saturday’s highly anticipated contest against Georgia. The tight end reportedly had surgery on Sunday following the game, and Ford appears to be recovering well ahead of schedule considering his status on the Tide’s latest injury report.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer recently took a moment to comment on Ford’s status, as DeBoer remains optimistic that the tight end will be able to suit up on Saturday evening.

“He’s having a good week coming back from it.” DeBoer said. “Pushing as hard as he can, just like the rest of our guys do when they have injuries. We’re optimistic for Saturday.”

Ford has recorded just one catch on the year for three total yards and one touchdown. The former Oklahoma State star has played a pivotal role in Alabama’s early success on the ground to begin the year, and Ford appears to be trending in the right direction following DeBoer’s comments on Wednesday night.
