Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell has emerged as college football’s next superstar over the first five weeks of the 2026 season. 

Russell has been nothing short of elite to begin his first season as the Tide’s starting quarterback. The sophomore’s abilities both through the air and on the ground have been on full display, and Russell has emerged as a top candidate for the Heisman Trophy Award as a direct result of his success.

The Crimson Tide star has proven to shine under pressure on countless occasions this year. Russell currently has 19 completions on 20+ yard throws for a total of 659 yards, which leads the nation entering Week 6. Additionally, the sophomore has earned a 98.8 passing grade on 20+ yard throws to begin the year, which also leads the country as well.

Russell has truly put on a show over his first five weeks as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, and the sophomore will undoubtedly need to remain at his best against Georgia in Week 6.
