The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide by a final score of 20-17 on Saturday evening.

Alabama struggled offensively following a fumble by sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell on the opening drive of the contest. Russell and the Tide were unable to make a consistent impact through the air despite a promising performance on the ground, and the Tide now find themselves with a 2-1 record to begin SEC play this season.

Russell took a moment to reveal his message to the team following the matchup, and the sophomore claims he views the loss as a learning moment.

“It’s a learning moment. We are going to get better.” Russell said. “This is a good team that we lost to, everybody hates to lose but you know, it’s a learning moment. You get to look back at the film, understand what we have to critique on and get back out there to go 1-0 next week. We are going to be better. The guys are feeling it right now, but come tomorrow they all understand that the assignment is going to be just go out there and give it our best each and every week, we got to stay as one. We are going to be good.”

Russell recorded 226 total yards and one touchdown in the Tide’s loss to Georgia on Saturday night. The young quarterback faced an extremely tough test against one of the top defensive units in the nation during Week 6, and Russell will now look to bounce back in a highly anticipated matchup against Tennessee next weekend.
