Alabama football’s rushing attack continues to look much improved from last season in 2026.

Trent Richardson, who starred at running back for the Crimson Tide during his college career, is a fan of how the Crimson Tide’s running back group is for more than one reason.

“The way the running backs are hitting the hole, it’s not even a thing to where it’s like we just got one guy, bro,” Richardson said on “The Dynasty Podcast.” “We got three guys right now that are playing and doing really good, and they’re able to bring different things to the game. Daniel’s (Hill) more of an all-around, but he’s able to finesse with pass blocking and help with that. Trae’shawn (Brown) is a home run hitter too, man. I mean, that guy’s breaking the long runs, man. And you get to EJ (Crowell). I mean, once everything gets to going for EJ, bro, it is gonna be a different type of talent, and listen, that kid, he’s working his tail off to, you know, to be the guy that everybody else expects him to be, just to prove it to himself, man. And that doggone Tre’Shawn Brown, man, he had 90 yards off 9 carries, especially in the first half. The first half was just tremendous. And that kid there, man, he is special.”

Brown leads Alabama on the ground with 301 yards and five touchdowns on 51 carries. Hill, who starts at running back for the Tide, has gained 262 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Crowell rounds out what is looking like a three-headed monster at back for the Tide.

The Crimson Tide will look to stay productive on the ground against Tennessee on Saturday.
