Alabama 5-Star freshman CB possibly on pace to see first action vs. Tennessee

For the first time in his career, Jorden Edmonds is not listed on the availability report for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Edmonds is a former five-star cornerback, and he signed with the Tide as a member of Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class.

The freshman was injured during fall camp and missed several games this season because of it. Before he went down with the injury, the Tide’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack highlighted him as a player who could contribute early in Tuscaloosa alongside fellow freshman, Jireh Edwards.

“Zabien Brown, Dijon Lee, Ivan Taylor, (Zavier) Mincey, those guys have all come in, and they’ve been able to contribute for us in year one, and I think both those guys are very much on pace to do that,” Wommack said.

Edmonds’ possible return to the field may be coming at a great time for the Tide. Alabama’s secondary was expected to be a strength of its defense this season, but unfortunately for the Tide, the group has been a liability at times. The inconsistency on the back end of the Tide defense may allow Edmonds an opportunity to get a shot at some playing time at cornerback.

The Crimson Tide will be back in action Saturday when Alabama takes on Tennessee.
