Alabama DB comments on Tide’s defensive performance vs. Tennessee

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Bray Hubbard (18) celebrates his interception as Auburn Tigers take on Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Auburn Tigers 27-20.

The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered a 26-10 loss on the road against Tennessee this afternoon.

Alabama was unable to maintain any momentum on the offensive side of the football. The Crimson Tide’s defense constantly found themselves on the field throughout the matchup, and the unit allowed 12 total first half points on 4 field goals despite the offensive struggles from Keelon Russell and company.

Alabama safety Bray Hubbard took a moment to comment on the Tide’s defensive performance as a whole following the loss, as Hubbard claims the unit played fairly well.

“I don’t think we got tired,” Hubbard said. “We played a lot of snaps defensively. And honestly, I think we played fairly well. Obviously, you don’t want those two touchdowns. But just the spots that we got into — the turnovers, or whatever it was — about all you could do was hold them to a field goal or try to take the ball away.”

Alabama’s offense consistently put the defense in a tough position throughout all four quarters of Saturday’s contest. The unit as a whole allowed 26 total points to an underwhelming Volunteers’ offense, and the Tide will need to bounce back in authoritative fashion against Texas A&M next weekend in Tuscaloosa.
