Alabama LB says Tide feels like their backs are ‘against the wall’

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be fighting for their lives across the final five weeks of the regular season following a 26-10 loss against Tennessee last weekend.

Alabama was underwhelming in all aspects against the Vols. The Tide have now scored just 13 points across their last six quarters of play, and the team as a whole will need to perform at a much higher level with a talented Texas A&M team coming to town in Week 8.

Alabama linebacker Caleb Woodson recently revealed the Tide’s mindset entering Saturday’s contest against the Aggies, as Woodson claims the team as a whole is focused on doing whatever it takes to win.

“Not to focus on other people, but we know how the standings in college football are shaking out right now.” Woodson said. “We know we got to win this week, and we got to win next week, and the next week, and the next week. So we just know our backs are against the wall, and that’s how we got to do it.

Woodson was then asked if the Tide tend to hold a ‘players only’ meeting when the team as a whole begins to struggle.

“We do, when it’s called.”

Woodson led Alabama in tackles against Tennessee with 11. The Tide as a whole missed 23 total tackles in Knoxville, and Woodson’s comments are an excellent sign considering the immense struggles on both sides of the ball last weekend.
