The Alabama Crimson Tide were able to defeat the Texas A&M Aggies by 11 despite yet another slow start on the offensive side of the football.

Keelon Russell and the rest of Alabama’s offense were unable to create consistent momentum throughout the first half today. Russell bounced back in the second half, however, and the talented quarterback ultimately ended his day with 311 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Following the game, Russell took a moment to reveal his message to the team at the start of the 4th quarter.

“We just got to go win.” Russell said. “We got to play our game, be poised. When things don’t go right, don’t throw your head down. Like I said, things weren’t going right for us in the first half, particularly me. Stuff wasn’t going right for me, and I wanted to blame myself because I had my head down a lot. Not taking accountability for a lot of things, but they show a lot of self love to me. Just pick me back up, keep me going. And so really just congratulating the guys, so proud of the guys for just battling.”

Russell is set to be tested once again when the Tide travel to Baton Rouge for a matchup with LSU in two weeks. The sophomore had himself an elite second half after a shaky start in the first and second quarter, and Russell will now look to build upon his performance against the Tigers in Week 10.
