Alabama’s offense was able to step up in the second half of today’s win over Texas A&M.

Crimson Tide wide receiver Rico Scott had a career game today. Scott hauled in 156 yards on six receptions, as the junior played a critical role in Ryan Coleman-Williams’ absence.

Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell took a moment to comment on Scott’s performance following the game, as Russell praised the route runner for his ability to step up.

“Obviously with Ryan being out, Rico had to step up in a big way.” Russell said. “Coming in as one of our faster guys and just building that guy. He’s a phenomenal player, he works his tail off at practice. You see a guy working extra hard after practice, you know he wants it real bad. This week, he showed that. When your name is getting called, you got to be able to respond to it.”

Scott undoubtedly picked up the phone when his name was called today. The route runner will more than likely emerge as the Tide’s wide receiver one once again in Baton Rouge should Coleman-Williams remain sidelined, and Scott could have a major opportunity to build on this week’s performance moving forward.
