Jaheim Oatis, a native of Columbia, Miss., dominated the high school ranks as an offensive and defensive lineman. He collected 65 tackles, 18 stops for loss, three sacks, and four blocked field goals in his junior season at Columbia High School. Oatis came to the Crimson Tide as a four-star recruit at 6-foot-4 and 370 pounds. He is determined to get playing time as a freshman, and he has endured a significant weight loss process. Oatis dropped 46 pounds in three months with the help of a nutritionist.
He shared his journey on social media.
Just wanna give my nutritionist Ms Amy Ellis a huge THANK YOU for helping me the last 3 months I’m NOW 46lbs lighter and I’m not done yet 💪🏾😈🏈!!!! #RollTide #weightloss #BigJah

Oatis, who is now at 324 pounds, is an early enrollee for spring practice. He is battling for an opportunity to crack the two-deep rotation on the defensive front. Alabama has its first scrimmage on Saturday, and fans are excited to see what he does.
