Former Alabama wide receiver Agiye Hall has broken silence on his departure from the Crimson Tide a month ago. After transferring to Texas, Hall sat down with Horns247 and explained why he believes the Longhorns are a better fit for him and highlighted how Alabama fans were not very loving towards him during his time in Tuscaloosa.

“One thing that really stood out is the culture. Bama fans — they’re not really loving, if I could say — even when you leave,” Hall said. “Texas fans are like a family. They love you unconditionally. They want the best for you and want to make sure you’re striving to be the best person you are, whether it’s people in the stands, players or coaches – they’re all connected, which is a good thing.”

Before entering the NCAA transfer portal, Hall was suspended for a violation of team rules and was removed from the team’s online roster.

“He is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they’re academic or whatever. It doesn’t really matter,” Saban said back in April. “Everybody has a responsibility and obligation to respect the principles and values and do what they need to do. They’re all there to help them be more successful, so to respect those and do those are always really helpful.”

Hall’s relationship with Alabama fans has been a contentious one as he would regularly share cryptic posts on social media to various reactions.

Despite his off-the-field dealings with Crimson Tide fans, Hall later shared in the report that he loved the team’s playbook, which is why it was an easy decision to reunite with former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian at Texas.

“Really, I loved Bama’s playbook,” Hall said. “And it’s Sark’s playbook. So, I gotta stick with my boy Sark. What I was doing at Bama that wasn’t seen is going to be seen this year.”

During his one season with Alabama Hall recorded four receptions for 72 yards in seven appearances on the year.
