Elba High School’s (AL) freshman running back, Alvin Henderson earned his 51st D1 offer from Alabama football Monday after attending the Nick Saban Football Camp.

Henderson has developed into one of the most sought-after 2025 prospects in the country. He picked up his first D1 offer from Ole Miss on Nov. 4, and his offer total quickly grew to six before the month ended. Middle Tennessee State became the 50th program to offer Henderson on June 8.

The Elba product’s performance at Monday’s camp prompted Nick Saban to offer him after the camp.

“It seemed like a dream getting offered by the most commonly known coach in college football,” Henderson said.

Alabama football hosted Henderson a few times before hosting him for camp Monday. After several visits to Tuscaloosa, the rising sophomore feels like he is around family when he is on the campus of the University of Alabama.

“I absolutely love it up there,” said Henderson. “Everybody makes you feel as if you were around your family. I am a big family type of guy. The few times I have been up there, they have made me feel as if I were one of their sons.”

Henderson currently stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs approximately 190 pounds. The Elba Tigers run a wing-T offense, which creates opportunities for its running backs to show their talent. Henderson took full advantage of his carries during the 2021 season.

The new Alabama target is a patient runner who waits for his blocks to set up and uses his vision to find open holes. He hits the hole hard, explodes into the open field and can hit another gear in open space. Henderson has also shown an ability to be a physical runner.

Saban told Henderson he was impressed with his explosiveness during the camp.

“He said he liked my work ethic, the way I burst through the drills, the way I hustle at camp and the way I carry myself in football games,” Henderson said.
