Caleb Downs announced his commitment to Alabama football Wednesday.
Downs chose Alabama over Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia and others. He is the Crimson Tide’s 15th commit in the 2023 recruiting class, and their fourth defensive back commit. His commitment gives Alabama three five-star defensive back pledges.
At 6-foot and approximately 190 pounds, Downs is a true ball hawk, who can anticipate where the football is going before the quarterback releases it. He is excellent in run support as he comes down hill with the intent to cause major disruption. The Alabama commit is also a weapon with the ball in his hands, and he could be used as a returner at the next level.
