He is one of the greatest legends in Alabama football history, so people listen when he makes an all-time list.
Shaun Alexander was the Crimson Tide’s longtime record holder for rushing yards and touchdowns as a running back before Nick Saban started ushering in other playmakers in his national championship run. Alexander dazzled Tide fans with his clutch performances in the 1990s, including a Southeastern Conference Championship in 1999. He decided to give The 33rd Team some interesting content on social media. Alexander broke down his top four Alabama running backs of all time.
The legend named Derrick Henry, Trent Richardson, Mark Ingram, and Bobby Humphrey in that order.

No Tide fans can argue Alexander’s list. Henry and Ingram brought the program a Heisman Memorial Trophy while Richardson became a Heisman finalist in 2011. He set a single-season school record with 1,679 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

Humphrey dominated Alabama football in the 1980s, posting 3,420 career rushing yards and 33 touchdowns. He finished 10th in the 1987 Heisman Trophy voting and was an All-American in 1986 and 1987. It will be interesting to see who becomes the next legendary running back for the Tide.
