He arrived as a transfer from the University of Georgia, but Jermaine Burton is now bought into the Alabama culture.

Burton, a California native, made plays last season — especially in the latter part of the 2022 campaign. He suffered from drops in his first year with the Crimson Tide, but he led the team in receiving yards (677). Burton totaled 40 receptions, including seven touchdowns, and averaged 16.9 yards per catch. The 6-foot, 200-pounder has a lot of talent, but he is working to be a more reliable target for a new quarterback. Burton is in Atlanta (Ga.) refining his skill set to become a first-round draft pick.

Alabama has a roster loaded with receivers; however, Burton needs to be the most consistent. He may not have the explosive speed or big size, but he will make his money by catching passes consistently. No matter who the quarterback is if Burton can make them comfortable, he will help the offense win a College Football Playoff National Championship.

Burton has to separate himself from the other receivers in preseason camp.
