After hearing the tragic news about Khyree Jackson, the University of Alabama football program has released a statement via social media.
Jackson, a former Crimson Tide defensive back, died Friday night in a car accident in his home state of Maryland.

The 24-year-old played cornerback for the Tide from 2021 to 2022 under Nick Saban. He was on Alabama’s 2021 Southeastern Conference Championship team and College Football Playoff team. Jackson also played on the Tide’s 2022 squad that captured an Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship. He spent his final year at the University of Oregon, producing a breakout season in 2023.
Jackson had seven pass breakups and a team-high three interceptions — earning first-team All-Pac-12 and getting selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Alabama football posted via X that is mourns the loss of Jackson and its thoughts are with his family and friends. Wes Neighbors, a former Alabama player and coach, and current staffer Eron Hodges both shared statements about Jackson on X. Neighbors played for the Tide under Saban from 2008 to 2011.
