Alabama players react to shocking loss to Vanderbilt

Alabama football suffered one of its most shocking defeats in school history at the hands of Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide left Nashville with their first loss of the season after falling to the Commodores 40-35. Alabama offensive lineman, Tyler Booker feels the Tide was simply out played.

“They just made more plays than we did,” Booker said. “Everything that they did, we had practice. We have that script A on our chest, but we have to play up to the standard of that script A every week, and clearly we did not today.”

The Tide’s defensive lineman, Tim Keenan III feels how Alabama responds to the outcome of their last outing will be crucial.

“It’s all about what you do from here, how you respond,” Keenan said. “If you lay down and feel like you’re out of, then you’re out of it. But if you get back to work tomorrow and see the next opponent, see what you can do better, than you got a chance.”

Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense was able to put up 35 points in the win despite turning the ball over twice. The Tide signal caller feels Alabama must use this moment to reflect and get better.

“Reflect and build,” Milroe said. “I think that’s so important for a football team because, of course, losing feels bad. It’s all about how you can reflect and how you can refine and get better. That’s gonna be so critical for us to have a 24-hour rule, regroup, refocus, and challenge each other to get better, now that we’re not a finished product. We acknowledge that there’s rooms to grow. And so for all of us, all we want to do is continue to compete, continue to just acknowledge that we have short term goals and long term goals. That’s all still achievable if we have the right mindset. If we approach it the same way.”

Alabama will look to bounce back again South Carolina next week.
