Alabama football is hopeful to have this experienced wide receiver versus South Carolina.

Kalen DeBoer updated the status of Kobe Prentice on Wednesday during the SEC Coaches Teleconference.

The junior suffered a hit to the head against Vanderbilt last week. Prentice did not return to action as the Crimson Tide suffered a disappointing 35-40 loss at FirstBank Stadium. He has not been targeted much this season, but Prentice does have eight catches for 107 yards and a touchdown. He is tied for third on the team in receptions and is fourth for receiving yards in five games.

DeBoer said Prentice is going through workouts and is ‘on track’ to play this week.

He is progressing and doing well, but DeBoer is not ready to say Prentice is full go yet.

We will see if he plays, but the Calera (Ala.) native is making strides.
