Kalen DeBoer is fiercely campaigning for Alabama football to make the College Football Playoff in his first season.

The Crimson Tide has three losses, but that does not matter for its head coach.

Kalen DeBoer makes interesting statement regarding Alabama QB Jalen Milroe

He’s been on College Sports SiriusXM Radio and now he joined the Pat McAfee Show in discussing the Tide needing to get into the 12-team playoff. After a victory over Auburn in the Iron Bowl, DeBoer told McAfee that Alabama understands who it is.

He feels the Tide is one of the best 12 teams in college football.

“I have expressed to them that there’s a committee that has some tough decisions to make and we all get that,” DeBoer said about his message to Alabama players concerning the playoff. “There are a lot of great teams, but in speaking from within, we know we are one of the best 12 teams the way we see it. That is not egotistical, that is not arrogant, that is not the way I’m talking, but we understand who we are. We have to be ready, so this week is about the workouts, taking care of the things that are away from football, make sure there is no distractions when we get our opportunity, and reflecting on our strengths. We need to continue to breathe confidence into these guys and reminding us of how far we’ve come so that when we get to that point, we are back on the field preparing for hopefully another team and a playoff opportunity.”
