Alabama wide receiver early enrollee doing ‘awesome job’ on scout team in Rose Bowl prep

Alabama football’s freshman early enrollee, Cederian Morgan appears to already be making plays at practice for the Crimson Tide.

Morgan signed with Alabama during the early signing period earlier this month. He moved in recently as one of the members of the Tide’s 2026 recruiting class who was chosen to participate in Rose Bowl prep with the team.

Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb complimented the former elite wide receiver prospect during his Saturday press conference.

“I know Cederian’s been doing an awesome job over on the scout team for the defense, which is really cool,” Grubb said. “I know we got a couple of the young defensive players over with us. I’m actually getting a better look at those guys than the offensive guys. And Jett (Thomalla) played a little bit of catch last night. He really just got here and so did Mack (Sutter). So, nothing yet but just excited. It’s kind of really a cool entry point for these guys into the program here at Alabama is just, you know, we’re on a playoff run. We’re going to the Rose Bowl. I think, you know, in their mind, I would think this is everything they signed up for.”

The Tide’s starting wide receiver, Germie Bernard has also liked what he has seen from Morgan.

“He is going to be a good player,” Bernard said. “He’s a big wide receiver. He listens very well. He takes coaching. It’s exciting to see a guy like that come here early. It really helped me in the long run, and I think it’s gonna help him elevate him more, elevate his game.”

Morgan is coming off a head-turning week at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. He told Touchdown Alabama he had his eyes set on making plays early in Tuscaloosa at the event.

“That’s my number one goal, put my head down and work, and be a day one starter on the field and just be able to help the team out,” Morgan said.

The new addition to the Crimson Tide’s wide receiver room was known for his dependable hands as a 6-foot-4 prospect.
