The summer official visit season wraps up in Tuscaloosa this weekend, with the Alabama Crimson Tide set to host nine 2027 prospects.
Here is a breakdown of all nine:
* = Alabama Commit
Junior Tu’upo – 4-Star DB
Tu’upo is looking to come off the board next week, and Texas has taken the pole position in his recruitment after his official visit to Austin.
“As far as Texas, I love the coaches over there,” Tu’upo said. “I especially love coach BG (Blake Gideon). I feel like he’s a young coach, has a lot of energy, same with (Steve) Sarkisian and coach (Will) Muschamp. I love Texas. It was just a lot of energy over there. We did karaoke night. That was funny. We went out with players, got around the players, got around the recruits. They showed a lot of love.”
The four-star is down to Alabama, Auburn, Indiana, Oregon and Texas. If the Crimson Tide wants to grab Tu’upo, it needs an impressive showing this weekend. Fortunately for Alabama, the defensive back has built a great relationship with their staff.
“I love Bama for all the right reasons,” Tu’upo said. “They were the first team to see me, especially at the camp when I first came down here. They had eyes on me for a while. I built a long connection and a strong connection with them.”
At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, the 2027 prospect was a ball-hawking defensive back for the Warriors during the last football season. He displayed versatility while lining up at different spots within the Warriors’ defense. He was exceptional against the run when he was called upon to get downhill and make tackles. He also stood out in coverage with his length.
Antonio Berry – 4-Star OL
Berry has been a priority offensive lineman target for the Crimson Tide for some time. He is considering Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky and Ole Miss. The four-star has previously expressed how much he loved being at Alabama.
“They’re up there,” Berry told Touchdown Alabama. “I love it down there. It’s always good to be back.”
This weekend will give the Tide a good opportunity to gain some momentum with Berry.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder is a versatile offensive lineman who has the potential to play guard or tackle at the collegiate football level. He is a physical offensive lineman with great mobility who consistently looks for work as he works up to the second level for Tupelo.
* Tai Phillips – 3-Star RB
Tai Phillips verbally committed to Alabama earlier this month, choosing the Tide over North Carolina State, Florida State and others. He looks locked in with Alabama, and this weekend should serve as confirmation that he made the right decision.
At 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, Phillips is a tenacious and explosive runner of the football who displays patience and vision while looking for space as he blocks develop. He reports a 4.26 40-yard dash time, and one can see flashes of his explosive speed when he presses the gas and explodes onto the open field after getting a carry.
*Oakley Keegan – 3-Star TE
Keegan has been committed to Alabama since March. He shut down his recruitment soon after his commitment and canceled all of his other visits. His words have remain true.
“We visited campus, and that was beautiful,” Keegan told Touchdown Alabama. “That was really awesome and then obviously the coaching staff, I have a lot of respect for them. They’re super welcoming. And then, obviously, going through my injury, they were super supportive. So, that meant a lot. I always wanted to play in the SEC, getting closer down to family. We have family that lives in Georgia. I got a lot of respect for them. The discipline that they have, the coaching staff, and the connection I have with the coaching staff already has just been incredible and just I love Alabama. I think it’s the right choice.”
The 6-foot-7 tight end weighs 240 pounds, and he reports a 4.65 40-yard dash.
Kyren Caldwell – 3-Star WR
Caldwell attends Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida, and he is a 2027 three-star wide receiver prospect. He is down to Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi State and South Carolina. Alabama has been in constant contact with Caldwell, and the Tide has a chance to make a move for him this weekend.
“I think the program is run very well,” Caldwell said. “They have been producing the best wide receivers for years.”
At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Caldwell is an impressive route runner who creates separation throughout his film. He also possesses a long frame and the ability to create separation at various points in his route progression.
Jeremiah Beverley – 3-Star Edge
Beverley plans to announce a decision next week. He is officially visiting the Crimson Tide this weekend after earning an offer from Alabama earlier this month. The Tide has a golden opportunity to lock up a commitment from Beverley this weekend.
“I’ve been going to the program ever since I was six,” Beverley said. “Just me being there and just me being in the atmosphere, I’m blessed to even have an opportunity to be a part of the program. It means a lot to me being a local kid in the area, just me growing up in Alabama, me going to Nick Saban’s camps. It is really monumental. It means a lot to me. I’m an Alabama boy, so this means a lot.”
The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder flashes signs of being an explosive and versatile defender up front. He plays with active hands and is strong at the point of attack. The Crimson Tide will likely recruit to play both the bandit and wolf position within Kane Wommack’s defensive scheme.
Ayden Coleman – 3-Star LB
Coleman is committed to Mississippi State. He committed to the Bulldogs earlier this week after visiting Mississippi State last weekend.
Alabama recently offered Coleman, and he locked in an official visit with the Tide soon afterwards. Alabama will be looking to flip the linebacker during his official visit.
The 6-foot-2 prospect is an athletic linebacker prospect, who can make plays rushing from the edge and as an off-the-ball linebacker.
Stafford Willis – 3-Star OL
Willis will announce his commitment decision on Tuesday. He will choose between Alabama, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Alabama offered Willis earlier this month after building a relationship with him over the last few months. Every other school Willis is considering has already hosted him for an official visit. This weekend will serve as the Tide’s chance to show why Willis should be in Tuscaloosa.
“Fired up to get around the staff, coaches and players more to really get to know them and the team culture,” Willis said ahead of his Alabama official.
At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Willis is a physical offensive lineman who displays the ability to properly execute a variety of blocking assignments. One can see him executing effective combo blocks and continuing to find work at the second level of defenses throughout his film. Stafford also flashes some agility along with some impressive strength.
Tyler Younger – 3-Star Edge
Younger is looking to come off the board next week, and he is considering Alabama, Rutgers, UCF and Stanford. This weekend gives Alabama a chance to further show how they can develop him on and off the field.
Younger recently reported an Alabama offer and discussed his respect for the Alabama football program.
“They are great,” Younger told Touchdown Alabama. “Coach (Christian) Robinson even showed me why they are best at developing football players and men to reach my full potential.”
At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Younger is an edge defender who shows strength at the point of attack and flashes an ability to make tackles in space. He will have an opportunity to line up at the bandit position or at Wolf linebacker if he were to commit to the Tide.
