On Wednesday, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams addressed his drops from last season.

Drops were a problem for the star wideout last season, but Coleman-Williams says he’s got it under control.

“Obviously number one, just got to take accountability of it,” he said at SEC Media Days. “For me, just obviously making it a strength for me right now and doing PRPs and you know, focusing in on just the ball because I know the playmaking ability has been there my entire life, so just making the catch first and handling the rest later.”

Coleman-Williams received an abundance of criticism last season for dropping balls that could have turned into touchdowns or big gains. His worst drop from the 2025 season came in the Georgia game in Athens when Coleman-Williams dropped a deep pass near the endzone on Alabama’s opening drive.

In 2025, Coleman-Williams dropped 13 passes. He only dropped four balls as a freshman in 2024. The spike in drops from year one to year two has some fans hesitant to attach big expectations to the Crimson Tide’s star wideout ahead of his junior season in 2026.

On the other hand, he still finished with 49 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns. Like he mentioned at SEC Media Days, Coleman-Williams is a playmaker that can turn a quick throw into a massive gain with his moves.

Coleman-Williams is expected to be the leading receiver for Alabama in 2026, and only time will tell if his drop problem has been cleaned up.
