Alabama defenders are gushing over Alabama 6-foot-4 freshman wide receiver

Alabama football’s defenders are high on Cederian Morgan ahead of the 2026 football season.

Morgan is set to enter his freshman season this fall, and he is currently listed at 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds. Bray Hubbard, who is a veteran safety for the Tide, is feeling good about Morgan’s chances of hitting the field in year one.

“Cederian is a big receiver,” Hubbard told reporters at SEC Media Days. “He’s also put on a lot of muscle mass. He’s a strong receiver too. But I mean, you throw, throw anything his way, he’s going to catch it. He’s got really, really good hands. So yeah, I’m excited for him. I think he’s going to have a huge role in our offense. Obviously, I’m not on that side, so I can’t speak too much about it, but I go against him a good bit. So, he’s a great player, and I remember him in bowl prep when he early enrolled, and he came with us for bowl prep, I mean, dude was catching some stuff, and I was like, man, this kid’s going to be a great player.”

Zabien Brown, who is directly competing against Morgan and the Tide’s wide receivers at practice, also highlighted Morgan in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday.

“I think Cederian will emerge as a young player for us,” Brown said on :McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning.”

Morgan flashed during the Crimson Tide’s A-Day game, and Ryan Coleman-Williams revealed the freshman earned a nickname from his teammates.

“That’s my dog, man,” Coleman-Williams said. “So, really just seeing him, I mean, he’s really stacking days early on, still learning and stuff because he’s only been here 24 seconds, just to see him continue to stack days. We call him the Gulf of Mexico. You throw it in there, he’s gonna catch it. You got plenty of space.”
